Jonathan Barker

Jonathan was raised in Australia, Great Britain and Canada before attending college in California. He got an AA degree from De Anza College in Cupertino and a BA from the University of California at Davis, in 1975, with coursework in fine arts and English. After some years working for the University, he and his wife farmed walnuts and open ground in Kings County, California near Hanford for almost twenty years, operating custom spraying, harvesting and dehydrating operations as well. Jonathan has had many continuing education classes in agriculture and information technology, including certificate programs in network administration. Returning to UC Davis, Jonathan worked at the UCD Medical center, the UCD Library, the UC Center for Cooperatives, the Department of Agricultural and Resource economics and the Rural Cooperatives Center before starting at the UC Agricultural Issues Center. His work at AIC is diverse, from IT support to event planning, document editing, graphics and AIC business operations.
